FAQ about our new Trona Clinic

1. What days and hours are you open?    

Currently, we are open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays. In the future, we plan to expand the days we are open to Monday through Friday.

2. Who can come in?

The clinic is currently open to Adults & Adolescents (age 13 and older). We will be adding Pediatrics and Mental Health in the near future.

3. Is the clinic serviced by doctors, physician assistants and nurses?

Currently, Trona Clinic is staffed by Todd Rowland, FNP, Rachel McDuffie, PA &
Jo Litzinger, FNP.  Dr Cosner and Dr Mongar will have schedules in Trona in the near future.

4. Do you take Searles Valley Minerals insurance?

YES, we accept SVM insurance.

5. What other insurance do you take?

We accept Medicare, Medi-Cal, and most major private insurances including, but not limited to Blue Cross, Blue Shield, TriCare, UHS, GEHA, AARP. We are contracted with all the plans that Ridgecrest Hospital accepts.

6. Are you mainly equipped for primary care?

Yes, we provide primary care, preventative care, as well as chronic disease management and family planning. We also perform sports and camp physicals.

We have a lab draw station on-site.

We will be expanding to provide employee health and wellness services including physicals in the near future.

7. How do we contact you to make an appointment?

You can make an appointment by calling our main Clinic in Ridgecrest (760) 499-3855 or you are welcome to call the Trona Clinic directly (760) 372-4728 (please note we do not have voicemail in Trona).

8. Do you take walk-ins?

On a limited basis, for non-emergent, acute illnesses (such as cold symptoms, sore throat, urinary tract infection, etc.  Not for chest pain or other painful injuries).  We do not have x-ray capabilities but are planning to introduce it in the future.

9. Other information you may need to know:

We offer cash pricing for those without insurance and will be enrolling in special programs to cover the cost of certain preventative healthcare (including family planning and cancer screening) as well as free vaccines for children.

Our goal is to become a comprehensive medical clinic to meet the needs of the Community and local employers.  We look forward to working with the community, and if you have any questions, comments or suggestions, we welcome them.

We are planning an Open House to coincide with the upcoming Centennial Celebrations in Trona.  We hope to see you there!
