Pediatric Outpatient Rehabilitation
Play, Talk, and Learn
Our Purpose
The clinic is committed to providing the opportunities and therapy services necessary to promote every individual’s independence and overall development from infancy through adulthood. Creating opportunities for individuals to master developmental tasks, achieve independence in multiple environments and regulate physical, cognitive and emotional behaviors through a comprehensive evaluation and treatment plan are our primary goals. We strive to support the needs of the family structure in conjunction with an individual and their caregivers, health-care practitioners, school supports and/or community-based resources involved in the clients care.
Occupational Therapy
A child’s occupation is to play and learn. OTs provide comprehensive treatments for kids with motor, sensory, and cognitive impairments so that they may thrive in their environments. Children are always changing and growing as is the field of occupational therapy. OTs focus on creating the ‘just right challenge’ by following the child’s lead to achieve an adaptive response (targeted skill), building a strong foundation for further development.
Speech Therapy
There are many ways for children to communicate with families and peers. Speech therapists are committed to improving speech, language, and oral-motor control in order for kids to interact effectively and make meaningful connections. STs continually advance their skills to provide effective speech, language, and oral-motor interventions.
Physical Therapy
The goal is to advance children’s gross motor skills and physical health to allow for optimal function and quality of life in their home, school, and play environments. PTs incorporate many skilled intervention approaches and therapeutic activities to improve positioning, strength, range of motion, soft tissue mobilization, balance and coordination, and gait.
