Intergenerational relationships can provide benefits to all involved. This month we chose to highlight Barbara Butler. Barb has lived in Ridgecrest for 50 years! Barbara is no stranger to helping out any organization in the community and she has touched the lives of so many, especially the youth in our community. Even still when she is able to, she likes to attend the Rotary club meetings where she has been active throughout the years and helped lead Interact.
Barb and her late husband, who were married in 1948, have two daughters, Diane and Beverly. Diane, the oldest lives in Washington D.C. and has her own business. She has written 3 books (with some stories of Barbara), and they are sold in Barnes & Noble's. Diane has one son. Beverly, the youngest, is the principal of Inyokern Elementary school. Beverly has 2 daughters, one that lives here and is a schoolteacher and the other daughter is in the Air Force.
Barb is very proud of her family, and all that each of them have accomplished. Barb's advice "Be involved in your community...Don't just offer advice to children, listen to what they have to say". Thank you, Barb, for all you have done for our community!
