Injury Prevention

At Ridgecrest Regional Hospital, we believe that many traumatic injuries can be prevented through education and proactive measures. Our Injury Prevention Program is dedicated to helping individuals and families stay safe through a variety of free outreach programs aimed at reducing the risk of injury.

Our injury prevention initiatives focus on providing the community with the tools, knowledge, and skills to respond to emergencies and prevent injuries before they happen.

Injury Prevention Programs

  • Stop the Bleed – This life-saving program, sponsored by the American College of Surgeons, teaches the public how to stop life-threatening bleeding. Knowing how to respond in the first critical minutes of an emergency can save lives. Classes are available upon request.
  • Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention – Recognized by the CDC and the National Council on Aging, this 8-week program is proven to reduce falls and improve balance and mobility. It’s an excellent resource for seniors or anyone concerned about falls and injury prevention. Classes are held at our Outreach Building.
  • Car Seat Safety Checks and Education – Our certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians offer free car seat checks and installation guidance. Did you know up to 2/3 of car seats are installed incorrectly? Let our experts ensure your child is safe. Car seat checks are available at events or by request.
