Medical Skincare Services in Ridgecrest
Like every other part of the body, your skin needs regular care and maintenance to stay healthy throughout your life. This is why it is recommended you schedule an appointment with a dermatologist once a year for a skin health checkup. Even if you do not think your skin is showing any signs of aging from wear and tear, there are many subtle signs that appear in skin that can tell us how your skin is holding up the older you get. The more we know about your skin, the better we can assist you in keeping it looking the way you want it to.
Our dermatology services include:
- General dermatology
- Surgical removal of skin cancers, including MOHS surgery
- Cosmetic procedures such as Botox® and dermal fillers
- Photodynamic therapy (PTD) for pre-cancerous lesions
- Sclerotherapy for Varicose Veins
- Laser treatments for vascular legions, pigmented lesions, brown spots, and acne
Skin Cancer Warning Signs
Many people do not seek dermatology services until they are dealing with skin irritation such as psoriasis or eczema. One of the most common reasons people schedule a visit an appointment with the dermatologist is a concern about skin cancer.
Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer. Thankfully, it also has the highest survival rate because it can be treated effectively when caught early enough. Skin cancer typically manifests itself as a strange growth or discoloration on the skin.
Skin cancer can first appear in a number of ways, such as:
- Changes in size, texture, or color to an existing mole or birthmark
- A strange skin growth that appears translucent, black, brown, or has multiple colors
- A skin mark that continuously itches, hurts, or bleeds
- An open sore that does not show any signs of healing after three weeks.
It is recommended you perform a skin self-check once a month just so you can get used to how your skin looks and feels. This will make it easier for you to notice warning signs of skin cancer should they appear.
Skin irregularities can appear for a number of reasons, so do not panic if you do find something strange during a self-exam. Schedule an appointment with our knowledgeable dermatologist and let him tell you what could have caused this new growth.
We accept all forms of insurance except any HMO’s.
Dr. Lashgari does accept medical and even the kern family or dignity with authorization.
